Brief History of IBA
Institute of Business Administration (IBA) came into existence in 1966 as a specialized institution under the University of Dhaka by offering the nation’s first MBA Program under academic collaboration arrangements with the prestigious Indiana University at Bloomington, USA. IBA subsequently became the center of excellence for the business studies in Bangladesh. The BBA program was introduced subsequently in 1993 (in collaboration with the University of New Brunswick, Fredericton, Canada). With a continued and invincible reputation, IBA is widely accepted as the best in the business.
BBA Programme at IBA
BBA students are required to complete a total of 40 courses equally in 8 semesters in 4 years followed by a 3-month Internship to earn a BBA degree from IBA, University of Dhaka.
Employability of IBA Graduates
IBA BBA graduates are recruited by multinational companies, local & international banks, and foreign companies even before they finish their course. No other degree in Bangladesh can ensure such a secured and esteemed career.
BBA (IBA) Admission Process
Admission to BBA at IBA is a two-step process. Firstly, candidates have to sit for a written test, and then those who are selected are invited to appear for viva test.
Candidates first sit for an admission test and are selected solely on the basis of their standing in the test. A candidate can appear for this test a number of times and a break of study is also not a disqualification. Around 180 selected candidates go through a screening interview; roughly 65% of the selected candidates are offered a place finally.
Admission Test Content
The admission test has two modules-
Module 1 : Written Admission Test
Part 1 : MCQ [duration 90 mm.]: Part one has 3 sections – Mathematics (25 Q – 30 Q Algebra, Arithmetic Geometry), English Language and Communication (25 – Grammar – Comprehension – Vocabulary), Analytical Ability (Puzzle-solving, Data sufficiency & Critical Reasoning) – 15 Marks.
Part 2 : Written English [30 min.]: Essay write up, Bangla write up – (25-30) Marks
Module 2 : Verbal Communication Assessment
Part 1 : Writing Assessment [15 min.]: Freewriting
Part 2 : Interview [10-15 min]

BBA (IBA) Admission Requirements
* No candidates is eligibale to sit for this year’s Admission Test if he/she has appeared in any admission test of Dhaka University including IBA before.
** Candidate from O-level, A-level or from all other boards, outside the country have to obtain “Equivalence Certificate” from IBA, before applying.
