Accommodation Cost: The Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) estimates the cost of living for students to range from RM12,000 to RM17,000 (USD3800 to USD5400) per year. This amount includes food, accommodation and transport.
Ease of Obtaining a Visa:
The Malaysian Government policy, through the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) and the support of the Immigration Department of Malaysia, is to encourage international students to study in institutions of higher learning in Malaysia. As such, it has introduced simplified and hassle-free entry procedures. Applicants simply have to meet minimum visa requirements and show evidence of their ability to finance their studies and living expenses in Malaysia.

Malaysia Government Scholarship

The scholarship is provided by Ministry of Education, Malaysia for international students to study Masters program in Malaysia. More than 34,500 Participants from 144 Developing countries have benefited from the same. The duration of the scholarships is 12-24 months and is accepted by public or private universities in Malaysia.

  • For the Master’s Degree Program, applicants should obtain a minimum of Second Class Upper (honours) or a minimum CGPA of 3.0 at the Undergraduate Degree level.
  • Scholars must undertake full-time study for postgraduate programs at the selected Higher Learning Institutions.
  • Proof of English Language Proficiency such as IELTS (minimum total score 6.0); or TOEFL paper-based test with a score of 500 or an internet-based test with a score of 60.

Global Scholarships for International Students in Malaysia

Malaysia Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan: Available for students from Commonwealth countries planning to study for Masters and Ph.D. Courses from Malaysian Universities. Malaysia Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan (CSFP) covers air tickets, tuition fee waivers, grants for books, and travel within the country, health insurance. The scholarship is offered for 12-24 months for master’s applicants and 3-years for Ph.D. Courses.

Malaysian International Scholarship: This is available for all international students planning to study masters and doctorate courses in Malaysian Universities. Malaysian International Scholarship (MIS) covers air tickets, tuition fees, monthly allowance, the grant for book and internal travel, medical insurance, thesis allowance, and journal publication grant. It is a fully-covered grant offered for the complete duration of the entire course of study.

Malaysia- Admission and Visa Process

Step 1 at MENTORS’

  • The file opens charge Tk. 5,000.
  • Fill up the application form; pay the Application fee and EMGS fee (RM 2600-3000 approx).
  • 1 (One) Certified true copies of all academic qualifications (in English Translation).
  • Scan/Photocopy of passport with at least validity of 1 year (all pages including blank pages).
  • 1 (One) Certified true copies of English Language Proficiency (if applicable); IELTS/ TOEFL/ PTE/TOEIC.
  • Health Examination and Medical Record.
  • 4 copies (35 x 45mm) white background photo.
  • Statement of purpose, CV, recommendation letters, sponsor fund (if required).

Step 2 at MENTORS’

  • The application pack will be sent to the University.
  • The University may take up to 2-4 weeks to send the email copy Letter of Acceptance (LOA) if eligible.

Step 3 at MENTORS’

  • Pay the administration & tuition fees (partial/ full).
  • You can expect the original LoA and VAL in 6-8 weeks.

Step 4 at MENTORS’

  • Fill up the visa application form and submit it with passport and other relevant documents at the High Commission of Malaysia to obtain a single entry permit. Visa stamping fees (BDT 4000-6000 Tk.)

Final Step 5 at MENTORS’

  • Students are required to inform the University of their arrival details at least 5 (five) working days prior to their arrival in Malaysia. Kindly take note that you might need to be picked up by the University’s representative at the airport in order to obtain clearance from the Immigration check.
